DO THE RIGHT MIX is a European campaign aiming to raise awareness about sustainable urban mobility. This European Commission initiative has been awarded the COP21 label on November 6.
The COP21 label is a symbol of the French government’s support for projects and initiatives led by associations, local governments or institutional stakeholders. The label is given to projects and initiatives that directly relate to fighting climate change and have a rallying or mobilising capacity.
Given the criteria, it is no surprise that Do The Right Mix (DTRM) has attained the label. The campaign, created in 2012, is currently run by ICF Mostra together with three city networks (EUROCITIES, ICLEI, POLIS) and a recognised international organisation (Regional Environmental Centre). The main activity of DTRM is the well-known European Mobility Week (EMW), held each year from 16 to 22 September, which presents sustainable mobility alternatives to citizens.
Within the campaign, ICF Mostra creates the graphic and audiovisual productions for the campaign, and oversees media relations, events and social media communication. Among other activities, we co-organise national campaigns in close collaboration with our network of partner agencies all around Europe and we produce videos for the European Mobility Week Awards, presented to the city that is judged to have done the most to raise awareness of sustainable mobility throughout the year.
The 21st edition of the United Nations Conference on Climate Change (COP21) takes place in Paris from 30 November to 11 December. The conference is considered crucial because the expected outcome is a new international agreement to keep global warming below 2°C. Mobility and transport can play an important role in creating a low-carbon global economy and cutting global emissions. Greater and more strategic use of, for example, public transportation, cycling, and walking will have a clear impact on global emissions, which is what DTRM helps people understand and put into practice.
