As the European Agency for Safety and Health at Work (EU-OSHA) brought its 2-year ‘Manage Stress’ campaign to a close at the Healthy Workplaces Summit 2015 in Bilbao, Spain on 3-4 November, ICF Mostra was on hand to coordinate press coverage of the event and to liaise with the 300+ delegates from across Europe who we’ve been in touch with over the course of the campaign.
The event was a moment to reflect on the efforts made to raise awareness about the importance of managing work-related stress and psychosocial risks since the campaign launch in April 2014. Since this date, ICF Mostra has been keeping the Healthy Workplaces Manage Stress website updated with tailored news stories, events calendars, and press releases that were all further boosted by social media engagement. ICF Mostra also kept busy managing a campaign secretariat to help coordinate the European-wide network of national focal points and campaign partners.
ICF Mostra was also involved in helping to promote tools, actions and events that took place over the two year campaign period, all with the aim of promoting the message: stress and psychosocial risks can be assessed and managed in the same systematic way as other workplace risks. The reason behind the campaign was that stress is the second most frequently reported work-related health problem in Europe and it accounts for almost half of all lost working days, which costs the European economy 136 billion euros every year due to lost productivity, including sick leave absenteeism.
