Development in the danger zone: The EU in Georgia

From the 15-19th June, Mostra organized, on behalf of DG External Affairs of the European Commission, a press trip in Georgia for 13 high level journalists. The aim was for these journalists to gain insight into the EU action in Georgia as well as to update them on the current political situation.

The trip was huge success, as journalists were able to meet an array of senior officials and politicians such as President Saakashvili and former President Chevarnadze, as well as civilians.

Mostra also produced a Video News Release entitled “The EU contributing to stability in Georgia”, and with the anniversary of the war taking place in August, the aim was to ensure journalists have more then enough material to cover the story.

So far, 15 articles have been written in 8 newspapers and the Italian public television RAI2 has planned a 40- minute report on ‘the situation in Georgia one year after the war’. We estimate that some 10.000.000 readers/viewers will have been impacted by these awareness raising actions.
