Showcasing energy efficiency and renewables: Mostra launches two new websites
Is it time to form a bigger picture from our isolated efforts to inspire change? Should we focus on spreading best practice in sustainable energy technology, building alliances and inspiring new energy ideas and actions?
The EU Commission’s Sustainable Energy Europe Campaign does just that, celebrating activities dedicated to energy efficiency and renewable energy solutions.
Any activity – be it a project or event – which encourages the use of renewables or energy efficiency is welcome. The Campaign provides inspiring stories of concrete actions of all 27 Member States. More than 250 new projects join each year and the Campaign promotes around 450 events across Europe.
On behalf of the European Commission’s Executive Agency for Competitiveness and Innovation, Mostra recently launched a new website which helps Europeans join the Campaign, put their projects in the spotlight, promote their events, and become Media or Campaign Associates.

A key part of the Campaign, each year The EU Sustainable Energy Week (EUSEW) showcases a week-long programme of events across Europe on energy efficiency and renewables.
In Brussels, from 11-15 April 2011, there is a packed programme of high-level debates, conferences and exhibitions. At the same time, schools, associations, companies, public authorities, and individuals will hold their own Energy Days across Europe.
Anyone can organise and take part in events, designed to demonstrate to businesses, decision-makers and the wider public that sustainable energy technologies are viable, cost-effective and good for the environment.
To help promote EUSEW, Mostra recently launched a new website to help Europeans find their nearest Energy Day and encourage readers to host their own events to show an international audience what they are doing to save energy or promote renewable sources of energy.
