Facilitating coherent pan-EU eGovernment services
With more and more citizens and businesses making use of the European single market’s freedoms of movement for goods and citizens within the EU, increasing pressure is being placed upon governments to deliver coherent, cross-border electronic public services.
As a way to help meet these challenges, the European Commission’s Informatics Directorate-General (DG DIGIT) has launched a new, comprehensive website on Interoperability Solutions for Public Administrations (ISA).
The site aims to foster and facilitate interoperability between Member State public administrations, providing an extensive free online repository of key information on common tools and services towards the delivery of effective eGovernment services.
Without these ICT-supported services, people wishing to travel, work, study, or live in other EU Member States will continue to waste time and money contacting and visiting public administrations abroad to deliver or collect information and documents.
The new ISA website promotes a common approach to information transfer, providing up-to-date news on projects, policy developments and tools and services that can be shared and reused across borders to develop common digital solutions.
For more information on ISA, visit the website.
