Aims:
To promote «Cinedays», the festival of European cinema, and to put Europe's film production and cinematographic heritage in the spotlight.Solutions:
Mostra produced a VNR, (Video News Release, a feature ranging in length between five and ten minutes, free of copyright), which highlights the boom in European production despite the difficulties inherent in the international market, such as the different languages, cultures and styles. This feature, entitled «Close-up on European Cinema», analyses the successful recipe of the hit film, «Goodbye, Lenin!» by the German director, Wolfgang Becker, and provides an inside view of European film production.
By the end of January 2004, this VNR had been shown by dozens of European television channels.
In addition, Mostra produced the brochure (in 11 languages) accompanying
the «Cinedays» event. This 24-page brochure explained
the purpose of «Cinedays», highlighted the rich diversity
of European film production, and illustrated various initiatives
which promote European filmmaking by young people. It also offered
a brief explanation of the scope of action of the European Commission's
Media Programme.
